XML-based Scoring Systems
A substantial body of medical knowledge, particularly in the areas of prognosis and diagnosis, can be reduced to relatively simple scoring systems.
On this page you will find a generic application that can be applied to render such scoring systems in a browser and automatically perform the scoring calculations without having to hard code each scoring system as an HTML page.
Each scoring system and some associated formatting information (color choices) is contained in one XML document; various XSL documents perform the task of rendering the XML in the browser.
The scoring is currently client-based; modifying to collect the scores on a server would not be a particularly daunting task.
